Web10. sep 2024 · I’m not so much concerned if too much protein turns into fat, but it does turn into carbs through gluconeogenesis, and for me that can be a real problem. I am 6’2″ 185lbs and if I get more than about 100g of protein a day, gluconeogenesis kicks in and my blood sugar (and hence my insulin) goes up, which defeats the purpose of keto for me.
